Fancy yourself as a bit of a DIY pro? Then why not try out this class where you will learn a useful and impressive new skill in a fun and creative environment, and possibly walk away with an unearthed passion for upholstery.
This class offers the best opportunity for students to learn a wonderful craft in a hands-on and sociable environment. The class is aimed at beginners but anyone is welcome to come along, no matter if you are a complete novice or a seasoned pro looking to touch up on your skills.
Next Full Day Intensive course 2nd & 9th July 2017 (10am – 5pm)
All students will be guided on how to use all the specialist tools, being shown all the best tips, tricks and techniques of the trade by your esteemed teacher. Students will be shown how to unpick and take apart a drop in dining seat and how to recover a chair seat to transform your aging piece of furniture into an elegant and eye-catching ornament.
- Have the ability to strip old upholstery, evaluate the condition of the frame and recognise necessary repairs
- Practice your modern upholstery techniques at home as you hone in your new skills
- Show others what you now know – give someone else the hobby that they have been looking for!
You will be able to walk away with a fresh set of skills and your own unique hand-crafted drop in seat.
The use of all tools and materials is included, all you need to bring is your drop in seat and chosen fabric for covering.
All abilities are welcome to join, no specific skills or prior knowledge required.
